Yes， I am marking the Bible as one of my books read this year。 I mean， I really the WHOLE Bible in 31 days and I feel like that is an accomplishment to note in my reading log！ Last year I didn’t include it， but this year my kids convinced me that it should count。 This year I joined in with a 31 day Bible reading challenge that went through the Bible chronologically—in the order that it happened， not in the order that it was written or was included in the Bible。 （A lot of people may not know that Yes， I am marking the Bible as one of my books read this year。 I mean， I really the WHOLE Bible in 31 days and I feel like that is an accomplishment to note in my reading log！ Last year I didn’t include it， but this year my kids convinced me that it should count。 This year I joined in with a 31 day Bible reading challenge that went through the Bible chronologically—in the order that it happened， not in the order that it was written or was included in the Bible。 （A lot of people may not know that it isn’t put in chronologically。） This was my second time to go through it chronologically， and my second time to read the Bible in a month。 But first time doing it chronologically in a month…which I think is harder to bounce around so much because it takes so much time。 If it was a plan on YouVersion Bible app or if I was reading through a chronological physical copy， then it would have saved a lot of time。 Either way， it is well worth the effort。 And I love starting my year off with the Word of God。 It’s also like tithing not only my time at the beginning of the year but also my love of reading。 A lot of sacrifices have to be made in order to read it through this quickly， and one of those sacrifices is reading other fun books。 I was actually shocked that I was able to finish any other books this month。 I’m sure I will be doing it again in future years， but I’ll probably go back to the tradition order next year。 。。。more

All the stars for both this edition and reading the Bible in 30 days！This Edition:The Reader's Edition is a six volume set: Pentateuch， Historical Books， Poetry， Prophets， Gospels & Acts， and Epistles & Revelation。 I have the clothbound edition， which I found to be both beautiful and durable。 This edition also has a leather bound option， which I'm sure is luxurious。 The paper quality is fantastic， as it is thicker and more like a modern published book versus the thinner Bible paper。 The font is All the stars for both this edition and reading the Bible in 30 days！This Edition:The Reader's Edition is a six volume set: Pentateuch， Historical Books， Poetry， Prophets， Gospels & Acts， and Epistles & Revelation。 I have the clothbound edition， which I found to be both beautiful and durable。 This edition also has a leather bound option， which I'm sure is luxurious。 The paper quality is fantastic， as it is thicker and more like a modern published book versus the thinner Bible paper。 The font is also very readable。There are no footnotes or references of any kind within the text。 There are minimal headings and breaks in the text， focusing on larger themes rather than breaking up individual chapters。 This is the perfect Bible to read in a short timeframe versus a more in depth study。Thirty Days Reading the BibleReading the entire Bible in 30 days is always something I've wanted to do， even more-so after completing 90 day read-throughs in past。Some takeaways:-I feel closer to God now than I ever have before。 My faith has never been stronger。-My prayer life has grown so much in the past month， and I've been praying Scritpure back to God more than ever。 I find the more I read the Bible， the more I retain even if it's not verbatim。My goal was to learn more about God， and I feel like this has happened。 Reading the entirety of the Bible in such a short time opened my eyes to the overarching narrative of the text。 I saw the emphasis on God as the Creator of the world throughout the 66 Books。 I saw Jesus in every Book。While studying the Bible is vital to the Christian walk， I highly recommend trying a quicker reading pace to see the connections come to life， to see God's character， consistency and faithfulness throughout time。Full transparency， this experience was not perfect:-I expected this to be a challenge， but was not fully prepared for the time investment。 I woke up most days at 5AM to read and found it took 2-3 hours each day。 As a childless homemaker， this was absolutely doable for me， just more than the typical 1-1/5 hours I spend in the Word。-While I was excited to undertake this challenge， there were several days where it felt like a chore。 I never considered giving up though， because I knew it was worth it。-I was not prepared for the toll it would take on my life。 I've heard it said that seeking to get closer to God makes you more susceptible to attack （not sure how Biblical this thought is）。 From a resurgence of chronic illness symptoms I've not had for years to more personal issues I don't plan to share， I definitely felt like the devil was working overtime to make me stray。Format: Physical Book， OwnedRating: All the stars （5 stars for rating purposes）Book 14 of 2024 。。。more

I’ve read the Bible many times in my life， but this was the second time doing it in 30 days via Nathan Finochio’s “30 Day Shred” plan。 Reading it in such a short time forced me to disconnect from a lot of other things in my life: podcasts， extra tv time， etc。 At the end of the 30 days， I’m so glad I read it again and can’t wait to dive back in at a slower pace。
